Truth lecture

When 'Truth' came for their guest lecture i knew little about their work. Like 'Thoughtful' they are a young agency, only recently (at the time of the lecture) celebrating their second year. 'Truth' design was started by two people, both with outstanding backgrounds in the industry, these are Darren Scott - graphic designer and typographer, and Jane Kaye - managing and marketing. In the lecture Darren and Jane came across as very nice people, and their website www.truth-design.co.uk also shows their friendly and informative nature.

They chose to present their work as a power-point presentation and were very thorough with their explanation of their work. The most enjoyable aspects of their lecture were the 'Fat Hog' paint brush product and identity design, the rebranding of 'Christy's', and product design for 'Durex'.

Also I was especially impressed with Darren Scotts range of typefaces, some of these consist of:

  • Amplifier (2006)
  • Aggregate (2006)
  • Bad Angel (1999)
  • Berliner (1996)
  • Mechanic gothic (1999)
  • Nitrogen (2003)
  • Rub-On (1997)
  • Sodium (2000)
