Tal Rosner lecture

I was very excited when i was told Tal Rosner was coming into our college and giving a guest lecture. If it wasn't for about two weeks before (when i saw his work on a late channel 4 programme about up and coming illustrators and animators) i would have had no idea who he was. After seeing his work i was very interested in learning more about him, his style and how he achieved his strange film manipulations. 

When he came in he seemed very nervous, and as he said, it was the first time he had presented a lecture to students. He showed us examples of his work with very little dialogue in between. This wasn't a problem as i don't believe his work needs much explanation. He showed us the work which i saw on television, which he filmed on a train, this one was especially good. He also showed us moving image which he created for the london symphony orchestra, he went into a bit more detail on this one, which was good as it showed us a bit of how he worked with the orchestra and conductor, and what was expected from him. Also he showed us a clip from the opening sequence of 'Skins' (an English sitcom about the lives of a group of college students) of which until then, i had no idea that he created.

I enjoyed this lecture immensely.
